Offering instant on-board assistance for ferry passengers

With one of the oldest AI assistants around (Stina), Stena Line ferries trialled using an AI assistant on board their ferries back in 2018 for passengers to ask questions in the moment: ‘How far into the journey are we?’, ‘I’ve lost my ticket, what do I do?’, and ‘where are the toilets?’. The custom-built hologram we designed at the time has since been replaced by quick and easy integration with software that can create a digital avatar to talk with customers face to face on a screen.
